Arson in Dover Township

On 08.27.16 at 0157 hrs, the Northern York County Regional Police Department responded to a structure fire at 106 Honey Locust Circle, Dover Township. Witnesses reported seeing a male flee the area of the residence.  As fire equipment from Dover Township and other departments extinguished the blaze, Officers began searching the area for the suspect.

Officers located Dustin Strine (30 yoa) hiding in a shed at 104 Honey Locust Circle. Strine was intoxicated, sitting next to a case of beer, a partially empty gas can, and two lighters. Strine was found to be a resident of 106 Honey Locust Circle.

No one was inside the residence at the time of the fire. Investigation indicates the fire started in the kitchen area of the residence.  Gasoline had been poured onto the kitchen cabinets and surrounding area and then set ablaze.  The residence still had a strong odor of gasoline after the fire was extinguished.

Strine was transported to Central Booking to face arraignment on the following charges;

  • Arson
  • Causing/Risking a Catastrophe
  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person
  • Public Drunkenness
