Burglary, Stolen Vehicles, Thefts from Vehicles in Manchester Township

The Northern York County Regional Police Department is investigating a spate of crimes that occurred in the northern part of Manchester Township between 11.08.16 through 11.11.16.  These incidents appear to be related and also related to similar crimes happening in neighboring jurisdictions.

  1. 11.09.16 – Vehicle Theft – a resident of the 500 block of Soapstone Lane reported that her 2007 blue Jeep Compass was stolen from her driveway overnight.  The key to the vehicle had been left in a nearby unlocked vehicle.  This vehicle is still missing.
  2. 11.09.16 – Thefts from Vehicles – residents in the 500 and 600 blocks of Soapstone Lane, the 2800 block of Dewberry Court, and the 2800 block of Bark Hill Road report items removed from their unlocked vehicles.
  3. 11.11.16 – Burglary – A resident in the 1200 block of Stonehenge Drive reported looking outside and seeing a subject rummaging through her vehicle. The resident also heard strange noises coming from the first floor of her home.  Upon arrival, Officers engaged in a foot pursuit of two black males.  The males were lost in a wooded area to the rear of the home.  Investigation found that a cell phone, cash, a purse, and car keys were taken from the kitchen area of the home.  The purse minus the contents were recovered outside the home.
  4. 11.11.16 – Vehicle Theft – A 2010 silver Ford Taurus was stolen from the driveway of the home.  This vehicle was recovered in the 1200 block of Stonehenge Drive.  The keys had been left in the vehicle.
  5. 11.11.16 – Recovered Stolen Vehicle – A 2012 VW Jetta that had been stolen from the 2600 block of Victorian Drive in Dover Township on 11.01.16 was recovered on Hambiltonian Way.  This is in the general vicinity of Stonehenge Drive.
  6. 11.11.16 – Vehicle Theft – A black 2014 Jeep Cherokee was taken from a driveway in the 2500 block of Midpine Drive.  The vehicle was unlocked and keys had been left inside. This vehicle is still missing.
  7. 11.11.16 – Theft from Vehicles – Residents in the 600 block of Olmstead Way and the 600 block of South Maurice Street reported that their unlocked vehicles had been entered and items stolen.

Officers recovered a red and black Nike sneaker and a cell phone from the area where the subjects fled on foot.  These items led investigators to a residence in the 600 block of North George Street.  The other red and black Nike sneaker as well as additional items were located at that residence.  Some of the items recovered had been stolen in neighboring jurisdictions over the past several months.

Officers obtained an arrest warrant for 19 year old Jahaire Wilson of 603 North George Street.  Wilson is charged with the following;

  1. Burglary
  2. Theft by Unlawful Taking
  3. Receiving Stolen Property
  4. Criminal Conspiracy
