Coach Arrested on Institutional Sexual Assualt

On 01.10.2018 at 0900 hours the Northern York County Regional Police Department arrested Aignee Nicole Freeland age 23 of the 1st block of West Maple Street in York.  Freeland was charged with one count of Institutional Sexual Assault and one count of Unlawful Contact with a Minor – Sexual Offenses.

Freeland was arraigned before MDJ David Eshbach who set bail at $100,000.00.  She is to have no contact with the victim and no contact with anyone under the age of 18.  Freeland is currently on her way to Central Booking.

On 12.20.2017 the Northern York County Regional Police Department was notified by Dover Area School District officials that they had learned of an inappropriate relationship between Freeland and a 16 year old female student and basketball player.  Freeland was employed by the school district as an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach.

The Dover Area School District suspended Freeland immediately.

Forensic examination of the juvenile’s cell phone showed numerous contacts between Freeland and the victim.  At total of 18 video calls were made between Freeland and the victim, as well as, numerous text messages.

The victim was interviewed at the York County Children’s Advocacy Center on 01.04.2018.  During the interview the victim disclosed information of a physical relationship and sexual acts between the two.  These instances occurred at various locations in Dover Borough, Dover Township, and Manchester Township.
