Man Held For Trial In Rape of 5 Year Old – North York Borough

A 39 year old Cumberland County man was held for trial on all counts related to charges filed by the NYCRPD at the office of Magisterial District Court 19-2-05 related to the sexual assault of a 5 year old female in North York Borough. A preliminary hearing was held before the Magisterial District Judge Walter Groom, who bound the defendant over for trial on all count. The MDJ ruled that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania had established that the elements of the offenses charged had been established, and the matter should be remanded to the Court of Common Pleas for further disposition.

CRAIG D. FORBES of 242 Susquehanna Avenue, Enola, was previously charged with the following offenses:

Count Number 1 – PA CS Crimes Code Title 18 Section 3121 Rape, Subsection C – Rape of a child, graded as a felony of the first degree

Count Number 2 – PA CS Crimes Code Title 18 Section 3122.1 Statutory Sexual Assault, graded as a felony of the second degree

Count Number 3 – PA CS Crimes Code Title 18 Section 3123 Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Subsection C – Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a child, graded as felony of the first degree 

Count Number 4 – PA CS Crimes Code Title 18 Section 3124.1  Sexual Assault – graded as felony of the second degree 

Count Number 5 – PA CS Crimes Code Title 18 Section 3125   Aggravated Indecent  Assault – Subsection B – aggravated indecent assault of a child, graded as felony of the first degree 

Count Number 6 – PA CS Crimes Code Title 18 Section 3126  Indecent  Assault – Subsection 7 –   indecent assault of a child under the age of 13, graded as felony of the third degree 

Count Number 7 – PA CS Crimes Code Title 18 Section 6318, Subsection A, Subsection 1 – Unlawful contact with a minor, graded as felony of the first degree 

Count Number 8 – PA CS Crimes Code Title 18 Section 6301, Subsection A, Subsection 1 – Corruption of the morals of a minor, graded as misdemeanor of the first degree

The defendant remains free on bail awaiting trial.
