Robbery & Assault – Two Subjects Arrested & Charged – Conewago Township

Two felony offenders await arraignment at the York County Central Booking & Processing area after their arrest by NYCRPD patrol officers for a reported robbery and assault in Conewago Township. 

NYCRPD patrol officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Bowers Bridge Road on 12/07/2010 at 5:20 PM for a reported assault and robbery. It was reported that the victim was beaten with a baseball bat. 

A male victim age 35, reported that he was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a subject identified as DONALD G. NEWELL Jr. age 24, of 1415 Conewago Avenue, Manchester, PA who was accompanied by a subject identified as MICHAEL SCOTT RUPPERT age 23, of 46 Oaklyn Drive, York Haven, PA, after driving to a secluded area of Bowers Bridge Road, the victim was ordered from the pickup  truck and knocked to the ground by both NEWELL Jr. and RUPPERT and was beaten with an aluminum baseball bat and robbed of his coat, wallet, and cash. The suspects fled the scene of the crime, and were later apprehended on 12/07/2010 at 9: 24 PM by the Newberry Township Police Department after a reported active fight call at a home on Oaklyn Drive, the address identified as the home address for defendant RUPPERT. 

During the course of the robbery and assault the victim suffered lacerations and contusions and was treated by area ambulance crew members, the victim refused treatment at a hospital. 

NYCRPD patrol officers filed criminal complaints charging the following offenses some of which are felony crimes:

MICHAEL SCOTT RUPPERT – Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Criminal Conspiracy To Commit Robbery.

DONALD GEORGE NEWELL Jr.  – Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Criminal Conspiracy To Commit Robbery.
