On 09.21.2011 at 0253 hours the Northern York County Regional Police located a stolen 1990 Ford Bronco II on North Schoolhouse Road near North Lake Road.  The vehicle had been stolen from East Berlin Borough.

Just prior to the discovery of the vehicle a model home was found ablaze at Schaff’s Home Center at the corner of North Lake Road and SR30.  The State Police Fire Marshall ruled the fire to be an arson.

During the day on 09.21.2011, investigators identified two suspects in the crimes.  The juvenile males, one 16 years old and the other 17, confessed to stealing the vehicle from East Berlin.  The vehicle suffered mechanical problems while they were driving and they abandoned it on North Schoolhouse Road.  The duo then gained entry to the model home and set it ablaze by placing burning candles on the bed and floor in the bedroom and on a chair in the living room of the home.  The model home was a total loss as a result of the blaze.

The juveniles will face charges through the York County Juvenile Court system.  They were released to the custody of their parents.
