On 10.20.2011 at 0826 hours the Northern York County Regional Police Department received a call from Dover Area High School in reference to a student in custody with a large amount of controlled substances.

Responding officers met with school officials who advised that a tip had been received indicating that a 16 year old male student was carrying marihuana and other drugs around with him in a back pack.  The student was to be selling the drugs at lunch time in the cafeteria.  School officials acted quickly on the tip, located the male, and searched his backpack.  Four different “brands” of marihuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, LSD, and drug paraphernalia were located in the backpack.  The Northern York County Regional Police Department commends the Dover Area School District officials for their swift action in this matter.

Officers interviewed the male in the presence of his father.  The male indicated that he in fact did sell the marihuana and other drugs to students, primarily freshman, during lunchtime.

The male was transported to Central Booking for processing.  He was then released to the custody of his father.  He will face charges through the York County Juvenile Court System.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.  Additional charges are pending.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Northern York County Regional Police at 717.292.3647 or use the crime tip reporting portion of this website.
