On 11.11.2011 at 0757 hours the Northern York County Regional Police responded to the Burger King located at 490 Loucks Road in Manchester Township for a report of an armed robbery.

Responding officers found that a black female driving a older red SUV entered the drive through and ordered breakfast sandwiches.  The robber then pulled up to the window and as the staff were preparing her meal, the robber produced a handgun and demanded money.  Burger King staff provided the female with cash from the cash drawer and the female drove away.  The vehicle was last seen heading south on Breezeview Drive.

The black female is described as heavy set with a wide flat nose.  She was to be driving an older model SUV possibly a Ford Explorer or Expedition.  The SUV was to have a dent on the driver’s side rear and tape over broken taillights.

On 11.30.2011 Northern York County Regional Police Investigators arrested Tyechia Lorraine Rembert at her home at 140 South Penn Street in York City.  Rembert was found to be driving at red 1998 Ford Explorer.

Investigators were led to Rembert after it was discovered that the subject that committed the robbery had called the Burger King several hours after the robbery to determine if witnesses had obtained the registration for the vehicle used in the crime.  Several search warrants were executed on telephone providers and eventually the call was traced back to a cell phone owned by Rembert.

During an interview following her arrest, Rembert confessed to the crime and advised that she had done the robbery to pay bills.  It was discovered that Rembert had concealed at crow bar in her jacket sleeve in such a way to make it appear as though it was a handgun.

Tyechia Lorraine Rembert age 33 was transported to Central Booking to await arraignment on the following charges;

  • Robbery
  • Theft by Unlawful Taking
  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • Simple Assault
  • Reckless Endangerment
  • Terroristic Threats
