On 02.09.2012 at 1506 hours the Northern York County Regional Police Department responded to a crash involving an overturned tractor trailer on North George Street near Lightner Road in Manchester Township.

Investigation found that a 2005 Navistar tractor trailer owned by Ward Trucking of Altoona, PA and operated by Edward Greif age 51 of Lakewood, Ohio was travelling eastbound on Lightner Road and attempting to turn left onto North George Street.   The tractor trailer was travelling too fast to make the left turn and overturned onto the adjacent guardrails and embankment.  The truck was hauling 42,000 pounds of bagged cement.

Greif was transported to York Hospital for minor injuries.

The roadway in this area was closed for several hours as the cement and truck were removed.

Greif is to be charged with Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed (PAVC 3361) and Accidents Involving Overturned Vehicles (PAVC 3716).
