On 03.27.2012 the Northern York County Regional Police Department investigated a burglary in the 900 block of South Mountain Road in Franklin Township.  The homeowner reported that unknown subjects had entered his home on 03.26.2012 and removed three containers of change from a spare bedroom.

Further investigation led officers to Shannon Kress age 19 of the first block of South Second Street in Dillsburg Borough.  Kress confessed to the crime and implicated her boyfriend Matthew Fordyce age 22 of the same address in the crime.  Kress advised that she and Fordyce made entrance to the home through a back door.  Once inside the home, they removed the containers of change and left the residence.  They then went to a bank in the Mechanicsburg area and cashed in the change for approximately $200.00.  The duo then used this cash to purchase Heroin.

Kress and Fordyce were charged with the following crimes;

  • Burglary
  • Criminal Trespass
  • Theft by Unlawful Taking
  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • Criminal Conspiracy

The investigation into this incident continues.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Northern York County Regional Police at 717.292.3647 or use the crime tip reporting portion of this website.
