On 06.24.2012 at 0214 hours a Northern York County Regional Police Officer was travelling on North George Street in Manchester Township when a black Acura was observed travelling southbound towards SR30 without any headlights illuminated.
The vehicle then travelled eastbound on SR30. The Officer attempted to stop the Acura by activating the emergency lights and siren of the police vehicle. The Acura made a left hand turn onto Toronita Street and then travelled through the parking lot of a restaurant before exiting back onto Toronita Street. The Acura then travelled westbound on SR30. The driver continued accelerating on SR30 and failed to stop for red traffic lights at the intersections of Susquehanna Trail and SR30 and at Pennsylvania Ave and SR30. The Acura travelled south on Pennsylvania Ave and crashed along Pennsylvania Ave just south of Parkway Boulevard.
After crashing his vehicle the operator of the Acura fled on foot into the Kiwanis Lake Park and eventually onto North Newberry Street. The initial pursuing officer found the male hiding in shrubbery in a ditch along North Newberry Street. There was no one else in the vehicle.
The driver was found to be Peter Anthony La Court Jr age 36 of no fixed address. La Court was found to have $1200.00 in cash in his pants pocket as well as a small baggie of heroin. The vehicle was found to contain a loaded .40 caliber handgun and a larger bag of heroin.
La Court was transported to Central Booking and arraigned on the following offenses;
- Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
- Carrying a firearm without a license
- Fleeing and attempting to elude police
- Driving Under the Influence
- Multiple traffic offenses.
