Minor Injuries After Tree Falls on Van in Dover Township

On 08.09.2012 at 1500 hours the Northern York County Regional Police Department responded to a vehicle crash on West Canal Road near Pinchtown Road in Dover Township involving a tree that fell on top of a moving vehicle.

Investigation found that a 1998 Ford van was westbound on West Canal Road when a large tree fell on top of the windshield area.  The impact of the tree caused major damage to the vehicle.

The vehicle was operated by a 16 year old male Dover resident.  The operator and his passenger were transported by EMS to York Hospital for minor injuries.

The roadway was completely closed and traffic was detoured for nearly an hour while the tree and vehicle were removed.
