The Northern York County Regional Police Department has arrested 33 year old Marshall Anthony Bradley of 55 Hunter Creek Drive in Conewago Township for 29 counts of Identity Theft and related charges following a six month investigation.

Beginning in May of 2012 victims began reporting receiving unsolicited credit cards in the mail.  Other victims reported inconsistencies on their credit reports, and others reported mail being taken from their mailboxes.

A NYCRPD Detective was able to track a majority of the transactions to an Internet address belonging to a Manchester Township Insurance Agent and to an Internet address belonging to the Harrisburg Area Community College.  Marshall Bradley was found to a be a student at the Harrisburg Area Community College and an employee of the insurance agent.  Further investigation found that a majority of the victims were  customers of the insurance agent, had received a quote from the insurance agent, or were neighbors of a customer of the agency.

It was found that Marshall Bradley was accessing personal information of victims through the insurance agency computerized files.  Bradley would then apply for credit cards in the names of the victims and have the cards normally sent to the victim’s address.  Bradley would then determine the mail delivery schedule for the address in question and then repeatedly check the victim’s mailbox in an attempt to retrieve the credit card prior to the victim discovering it.

Twenty-nine victims have been identified to this point.

Bradley would then use the cards until they were maxed out or cancelled.

The total amount of loss to the victims and the credit card companies is still being determined.

Bradley faces the following charges;

  • Forgery – 29 counts
  • Unlawful Use of Computer – 29 counts
  • Identity Theft – 29 counts
  • Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition
  • Theft by Deception
  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • Access Device Fraud
  • Dealing in Proceeds on Unlawful Activities
  • Obstructing Administration of Law or Other Governmental Function
  • Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence

The investigation into this crime continues.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Northern York County Regional Police Department at 717.292.3647 or use the crime tip reporting portion of this website.
