On 12.31.2012 at 2350 hours the Northern York County Regional Police Department responded to the 300 block of Shady Dell Road in Jackson Township for a report of a home struck by a bullet.

The homeowners reported being away from the home between 2130 and 2330 hours.  Upon returning home the homeowners noticed a hole in the ceiling of their bedroom. Further investigation found a spent bullet laying on top of the bed.

It appears that the bullet was shot up in the air by an unknown subject in the area, possibly in celebration of the upcoming new year.

The investigation into this incident continues.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Northern York County Regional Police Department at 717.292.3647 or use the crime tip reporting portion of this website.
