Phone Scam

On 01.17.2013 the Northern York County Regional Police Department received a report from a resident of Clearview Drive in Manchester Township of an attempted phone scam.

The resident reported receiving a phone call from a subject who told her he was with the FBI and that he had heard there were burglaries in the area of the resident’s home.  The subject then offered to come to the resident’s home and install an alarm system.  The caller requested that money be wired to him prior to the services being provided.  The alert resident then terminated the call.

The Northern York County Regional Police Department reminds residents not to trust unsolicited calls and do not provide personal information over the phone.
