On 01.25.2013 at 1439 hours the Northern York County Regional Police Department responded to a bank robbery at the Metro Bank located at 55 Arsenal Road in Manchester Township.

Bank employees reported at 1415 hours they observed a male subject milling around outside of the bank.  The subject appeared to be either taking photographs or video of the exterior of the bank.  The male then entered into the bank stood in line for the tellers.  Once it was the male’s turn, he turned and walked towards the exit and then stopped at the check writing station and pretended to fill out a banking slip.  The male then returned to teller and placed a black diaper bag onto the counter.  He then told the teller to place money into the bag.  The male did not display any weapons, nor did he threaten that he had one.  The amount of money taken has not yet been determined.

The male then fled the bank eastbound towards North George Street.  The male then travelled through back yards and eventually crossed North George Street onto Frelen Road.  The male entered a wooded area between Frelen Road and I-83.

The male is described as follows;

  1. White male
  2. 5’5″
  3. Dark blue jeans
  4. Dark jacket
  5. Black beanie
  6. Black gloves

The Northern York County Regional Police Department was assisted at the scene by the York County Sheriff’s Department, the York City Police Department and York County Sheriff’s K-9 “Lou”.

The investigation into this robbery continues.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Northern York County Regional Police Department through 911 or use the crime tip reporting portion of this website.
