Arrests Made in Vending Machine Thefts

On 02.08.2013 the Northern York County Regional Police Department investigated the theft of cash from vending machines located in the 1100 block of Hanover Road (SR116) in Jackson Township.

Video surveillance shows two subjects at the vending machines around 0320 hours on 02.07.2013.  The duo, a male and a female, arrived at the location in an older model Jeep Cherokee.  The male cut the locks from the machines using a pair of bolt cutters.  The female then used keys to enter or attempt to enter the machines.

The female was successful in opening one of the machines and emptied the contents of the cash receptacle into a bag being held by the male.

On 02.11.2013 the Northern York County Regional Police Department investigated a theft of currency from vending machines in Dover Borough.

The owner of a laundromat in the first block of South Main Street reported that at 1450 hours a white male and a white female entered the laundromat.  The male then began to pry open a vending machine with a pry bar.  The male was successful in prying open the machine and removing the cash that was located inside.  The female attempted to open several other machines with a set of keys.  She was not successful.  The duo was captured on video surveillance inside the laundromat.  The photographs of the subjects are not yet available.

UPDATE:

On 02.13.2013 at 0149 hours a Northern York County Regional Police Officer observed a green Jeep Cherokee travelling west on SR30 in Manchester Township.  The Jeep matched the description of the Jeep involved in the theft incidents and the male and female that were occupying the Jeep also matched the description of the suspects.

The Officer stopped the Jeep on PA Avenue and identified the occupants as Steven Baker Jr and Lori Gorman.

Steven Wayne Baker Jr age 27 of the 3300 block of Edinbridge Road in York

Lori Ann Gorman age 28 of the 700 block of Vilger Circle in Baltimore, MD

Baker and Gorman were taken to Central Booking to face the following charges;

  1. Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition
  2. Receiving Stolen Property
  3. Possessing Instruments of Crime
  4. Criminal Mischief
