Warning – This release contains information which may be offensive in nature to the viewer. The NYCRPD has released the information to assist in the investigative outcome and to provide the community with an accurate depction and image of what activities have transpired.
A Dover Township resident in the 4900 block of Conewago Road discovered that the roadway in front of the home, landscape features of the property, trash receptacles, vehicles, and nearby roadway direction signs were vandalized with spray paint. The crime occurred during the over night hours on May 18 & 19.
The crime is being investigated as a bias based incident since the damage depicts various phrases directed toward minority community members. This crime is a felony offense. Damage is estimated in excess of $2,500.00
As part of the investigation the NYCRPD has notified the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, and the York City Human Relations Commission. This notification is an essential part of the NYCRPD response to the investigation of bias based offenses in order to insure a broad based community response to these types of crimes.
