York City Man Arrested For Battery and Wheel Thefts

The Northern York County Regional Police Department is investigating the thefts of batteries from camping trailers and motor homes in Paradise and Jackson Townships.

Since early March 2014 the NYCRPD has received nearly a dozen reports of batteries being stolen from camping trailers and motor homes.  The campers have either been parked at storage facilities or at the homes of the owners.

Unknown subjects are cutting the battery cables and removing the 12 volt deep cycle marine/RV batteries.

The batteries are valued between $100-200 each.  The scrap value is between $10-20 each.

Also Previously Reported;

The owner of a business in the 6600 block of Lincoln Highway West (Rt 30) in Jackson Twp reported that sometime between 03.21.2014 and 03.25.2014 unknown subjects came onto the property of the business and removed 28 aluminum vehicle wheels.

The owner reported that 20 of the wheels were 16″ aluminum of varying description.

Two of the wheels were 10″ wide aluminum wheels that would fit a 1970′s era muscle car.

Four of the wheels were 16″ aluminum wheels that were powder coated white.

UPDATE:

On 04.29.2014 the Northern York County Regional Police Department charged Scott Harold Marron with the thefts of the batteries and the wheels.

Marron had been selling the items at a local scrap dealer.

Scott Harold Marron age 49, of the 400 block of West King Street was taken to Central Booking and arraigned on the following charges;

  • Theft by Unlawful Taking
  • Receiving Stolen Property

Marron was charged with stealing batteries from the following locations;

Paradise Twp

  • North Lake Rd
  • South Lake Rd
  • Schoolhouse Rd
  • Church Rd

Jackson Twp

  • Pine Springs Blvd
  • Lincolnway Dr
  • Biesecker Rd

Dover Twp

  • Harmony Grove Rd
  • Willow Rd
