York Man Charged with Attempted Homicide

On 10.09.2014 the Northern York County Regional Police Department was dispatched to the Church & Dwight plant located at 5197 Commerce Drive in Jackson Township for a report of a stabbing.

Investigation found that an employee had attacked another employee.  During the attack the aggressor used a 6 inch chrome shank to stab the victim more than six times.

The victim, a 25 year old York City man, sustained stab wounds to his back and torso, his throat, and his face and scalp.  The victim was transported to York Hospital for treatment of his injuries.  He was conscious and alert at the scene.

Edgar J. Farrell III age 21 of 1019 West Princess Street, was taken into custody at the scene.  He had been detained by other employees.

Edgar J. Farrell III was taken to Central Booking to face arraignment on the following charges;

  • Criminal Attempt Homicide
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Simple Assault

A photograph of Farrell was not available at the time of this post.

The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
