Vehicles Struck by Thrown Pumpkins in Jackson Township

On 11.12.2014 the Northern York County Regional Police Department investigated three incidents of vehicles being struck by thrown pumpkins along SR 116 in Jackson Township.

The incidents area as follows;

  1. At approximately 1945 hours a 2004 Jeep Liberty was travelling westbound on SR 116 near the railroad tracks when a pumpkin crashed through the windshield and traveled through the vehicle and exited through the rear window.  The driver of the vehicle suffered minor cuts to his face.
  2. At approximately 1950 hours a 2006 Ford F150 was traveling westbound on SR 116 near Cedarlyn Drive when a it was struck by a pumpkin thrown from the bed of a pickup truck travelling eastbound.  The victim and his passenger were not injured.  The victim’s vehicle was struck near the headlamp.  The victim reported that he observed a subject in the bed of a dark colored compact pickup throwing the pumpkin.
  3. At approximately 1953 hours a 1997 Jeep Cherokee was travelling westbound on SR 116 near KevinDrive when it was struck by a pumpkin.  The pumpkin had been thrown from the bed of a dark colored compact pickup truck that had been travelling eastbound on SR 116.  The pumpkin struck the windshield of the vehicle, but did not penetrate the glass.  The victim and his passenger were not injured.
