Stolen Vehicle and Arrest in North York Borough

On 03.14.2015 at 0234 hours the Northern York County Regional Police Department responded to the 900 block of North Duke Street for a report of a stolen vehicle.

The vehicle owner reported that someone had entered his 2004 GMC pickup, started it, and drove away south on North Duke Street.

Responding Officers located the vehicle on East 4th Ave.  The vehicle was still occupied by a lone male driver.

Officers were able to stop the vehicle and found it to be occupied by Andrew Brett Mello age 30 of 411 North George Street.  Mello was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking to face arraignment on the following charges;

  • Theft by Unlawful Taking
  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • Loitering and Prowling a Night Time
  • Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked
