Awards Presented February 15, 2011

On Tuesday February 15, 2011 the Northern York County Regional Police Board of Commissioners recognized Sgt. Gregg Anderson by presenting him with a Chief’s Commendation for his actions during a traffic stop that occurred on January 07, 2011 in Manchester Township.  The presentation took place at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Commission.  Click on the link below to read the entire commendation.

Sgt. Gregg Anderson - Chief’s Commendation

Sergeant Anderson received the Chief’s Commendation.  The Chief’s Commendation is the Department’s third highest award.  The  Chief’s Commendation recognizes performance which clearly surpasses the normal requirements of one’s position.

Information from the original news release is as follows:

On 01/07/2011 at 1906 hours a Northern York County Regional Police Officer stopped a blue Plymouth Neon after it made an illegal left turn from East 11th Ave onto North George Street.   This movement was in violation of posted signs at the intersection which read “All Traffic Must Turn Right”. The Officer stopped the Plymouth on North George Street and identified the operator as Emanuel Giobanny Alicea, age 22 of the 100 block of Belvidere Ave in York.  While speaking to Alicea the Officer observed a large clear plastic bag laying on the floor of the passenger front seat. The bag contained a green leafy vegetable matter that was instantly recognizable as marihuana.  Alicea was taken into custody.  Alicea advised he was staying at room 100 of the Super 8 motel located at 40 Arsenal Road in Manchester Township.  Alicea advised that he had additional quantities of marihuana in the room as well as packaging materials and other narcotics.

Alicea was transported to Central Booking.  MDJ Walter Groom issued a search warrant for room 100 of the Super 8 Motel.  A search of this room was conducted and additional quantities of marihuana, cocaine, cash, and packaging materials were located.  The contraband seized from Alicea and his motel room are as follows;

1) Three(3) 1 gallon baggies of marihuana
2) Three(3) sandwich size baggies of marihuana
3) One(1) baggie of cocaine
4) One(1) small baggie of marihuana
5) One(1) small baggie containing unknown white pills
6) One(1) Triton Scale
7) $1234.00 in cash
8 ) Various plastic baggies and other packaging materials.
 
Emanuel Giobanny Alicea was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession with Intent to Deliver Marihuana and Cocaine — Felony
  • Possession of Cocaine — Misdemeanor
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia — Misdemeanor
  • Driving Under Suspension — Summary
  • Obedience to Traffic Control Devices — Summary

Awards Presented on July 19, 2011

On Tuesday July 19, 2011 the Northern York County Regional Police Board of Commissioners recognized nine officers by presenting them with a Chief’s Commendation for their actions during a barricaded gunman incident that occurred on June 9, 2011 in Jackson Township.  The presentation took place at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Commission.  Click on the link below to read the entire commendation.

Awards Presented on September 20, 2011

 

On Tuesday September 20,  2011 the Northern York County Regional Police Board of Commissioners recognized Sgt. Gregg Anderson and Officer Isaiah Emenheiser by presenting them with a Chief’s Commendation for their actions in apprehending a burglar on July 22, 2011 in Jackson Township.  The presentation took place at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Commission.  Click on the link below to read the entire commendation.

On 11.15.2011 the Northern York County Regional Police Board of Commissioners presented Michael and Betty Feldblum with a Citizens’ Commendation for their ongoing volunteer work for the Northern York County Regional Police.

Mike and Betty have donated their time and energy to assist our Community Police Unit at community functions such as festivals, fairs, and carnivals.  Their devotion to their community have allowed the Department to more efficiently interact with our citizens

 

Chief Mark Bentzel and Deb SmithDeb Smith Commendation

On 11.15.2011 the Northern York County Regional Police Board of Commissioners presented a Citizen’s Commendation to Deb Smith of North York Borough.  This presentation took place at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Commission.

Ms. Smith has been instrumental in solidifying the relationship between the Northern York County Regional Police and the citizens of North York Borough.  Ms. Smith is a founding member of the Block Watch program on North Duke Street.  Over the past two years Ms. Smith and her team have organized the National Night Out celebration that brings the community and police together for a social gathering.

Tuesday November 15,  2011 the Northern York County Regional Police Board of Commissioners recognized thirteen members of the Department for their actions at a shooting incident that occurred on September 16, 2011 on Harvest Drive in Manchester Township.  The presentation took place at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Commission. 

 The thirteen Officers each received the Chief’s Commendation.  The Chief’s Commendation is the Department’s third highest award.  The  Chief’s Commendation recognizes performance which clearly surpasses the normal requirements of one’s position.

Officers Emenheiser, Hine, Gartrell

On 11.09.2011 the PA DUI Association held its annual awards banquet in Lancaster.  During the awards banquet, officers from across the Commonwealth were recognized for their achievements in DUI enforcement.  Three Northern York County Regional Police Officers received the coveted “DUI Top Gun” award.

On 11.15.2011 the Northern York County Regional Police Board of Commissioners recognized the accomplishments of these Officers by presenting them with the Chief’s Commendation. 

Officer Isaiah Emenheiser who has been a NYCRPD Officer since 2005 consumated 121 DUI arrests in 2010.  Officer Emenheiser had the 2nd highest total of DUI arrests among honorees. 

Officer Patrick Gartrell who has been with the NYCRPD since 2001 had 51 DUI arrests in 2010.

Officer Michael Hine, a 9 year veteran of the Department had 50 DUI arrests in 2010.

All three officers are repeat winners of the  award
