Jackson Township Man Arrested for $223,409.00 Theft

On 07.23.2012 the Northern York County Regional Police Department received a theft report from Panhandle Converter and Recycling Company located in Dothan, Alabama.

The company reported that they had been doing business with a Jackson Township company going by the name EMZ Metals.  EMZ Metals was located at 6186 Pine Road in Jackson Township.  The owner of the company is Steven Hemme of the same address.

On 05.27.2012 Panhandle Converter and Recycling delivered a tractor trailer load of catalytic converter parts to EMZ Metals.  The value of the load was $223,409.00.  Steven Hemme signed for the load of materials.  Panhandle Converter and Recycling advised that they had never received payment for the load.

NYCRPD Investigators responded to the Pine Road address and found it abandoned.

A warrant for Steven Hemme was issued in August by MDJ Reilly charging Hemme with the following crimes;

  • Theft By Unlawful Taking
  • Receiving Stolen Property

On 11.02.2012 the United States Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force took Steven Hemme into custody in West Manchester Township.  He was taken to Central Booking for arraignment.
