Upon arrival, the fire was confirmed, and firefighting operations were initiated by responding fire personnel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Findings During Firefighting Operations:<\/strong><br \/>\nDuring efforts to extinguish the fire, a hydroponic marijuana-growing system was discovered in the basement. After the fire was controlled, the property was secured, and NYCRPD investigators obtained and executed a search warrant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recovered Items:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Numerous marijuana plants<\/li>\n<li>A hydroponic growing system<\/li>\n<li>A handgun<\/li>\n<li>Additional illegal drugs and paraphernalia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cause of Fire:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe NYCRPD Fire Investigator determined the fire to be electrical in nature, originating in the area of the hydroponic growing system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Impact:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Displacement:<\/strong> Six residents and three pets were displaced. The Red Cross is providing assistance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Arrest:<\/strong> A 27-year-old male resident was taken into custody and is being processed at the York County Booking Center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Charges:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe male will be charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Endangering Welfare of Children (Felony &#8211; 1 Count)<\/li>\n<li>Manufacturing a Controlled Substance (Felony &#8211; 1 Count)<\/li>\n<li>Recklessly Endangering Another Person (Misdemeanor &#8211; 6 Counts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ongoing Investigation:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe investigation is ongoing.
