08.23.21 – 3:15 PM:  The Virginia State Police in Salem, VA located Dakota Toms.  Dakota Toms led the Virginia State Police on a pursuit.  At the end of the pursuit Dakota Toms shot himself.  It is not known at this time if he will survive his self-inflicted gun shot wound.  No further details were available from the Virginia State Police.

On 08.22.21 at 5:50 PM hours the Northern York County Regional Police investigated a Robbery in Paradise Township. The crime occurred at a motel in the 7400 block of Lincoln Highway.

The initial victim was a 47 year old female. She reported being in her room alone when she heard a knock at the door. She did not answer the door. The victim then reported that her air conditioner window unit was kicked.

The victim reported that her estranged boyfriend climbed through the window. She identified the suspect as Dakota J. Toms. Dakota Toms, 28 years of age, immediately began to assault the victim by choking her and banging her head off of the wall. As the victim screamed Dakota Tom’s new girlfriend rushed in to help the victim.

The new girlfriend, 47 year old female, reported as she attempted to stop the assault Dakota Toms pulled a knife threatened to kill the new girlfriend. Dakota Toms fled the scene by stealing the new girlfriend’s 2018 Jeep Compass. Dakota Toms whereabouts are unknown at this time. The 2018 Jeep Compass is gray in color and has a PA Registration Plate # HTB 8031.

The Northern York County Regional Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Dakota Toms. He is charged with Robbery, Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Strangulation, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Receiving Stolen Property, Terroristic Threats, Unlawful Imprisonment, and Simple Assault.

Dakota Toms was last seen on 08.22.21 at 11:21 PM in Dillsburg Borough committing another crime of violence. The Carroll Township Police Department has an active arrest warrant for Dakota Toms for the crimes committed within their jurisdiction.
