On 10.25.23 at 11:50 AM the Northern York County Regional Police Department investigated a crash on E. Canal Rd. at Lewisberry Rd. in Conewago Township. The police arrived on scene and observed a white Toyota pickup truck was eastbound on E. Canal Rd. The truck traveled off the northside of E. Canal Rd. and struck a parked car. The impact pushed the car into a detached garage. Nobody was in the garage at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Toyota fled on foot when the police arrived on scene. The police gave chase and captured the suspect in the 4000 block of Lewisberry Rd., approximately a 1/4 mile north of the crash.
The suspect was identified as a 44 year old male resident of Conewago Township. He was transported to UPMC Hospital for a complaint of leg pain. The suspect will be charged with D.U.I. and Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot.
