On 05.23.24 at 11:50 PM the Northern York County Regional Police Department investigated a deadly vehicle fire. The fire was located in the 2400 block of Pin Oak Dr. in Manchester Township.
On scene the police found a white 1994 GMC Safari minivan fully engulfed in flames. York Area United Fire and Rescue responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze. Thomas Rooney, 55 years old, was found deceased inside of the vehicle. No other persons or property were damaged in this fire.
The police interviewed witnesses in the area who advised that Thomas Rooney had been in and out of the van since 10:00 PM and was to have been constantly revving the engine.
The Northern York County Regional Police Fire Investigator assisted the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal in the investigation. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
