On 03.27.20 at 2:04 AM the Northern York County Regional Police Department investigated a barn fire. The fire was in the 5000 block of Lineboro Rd. in Manheim Township. The Lineboro Fire Department was on scene battling the blaze.
At 2:35 AM it was discovered that a second barn was on fire in the 5200 block of Lineboro Rd. The second barn is just a half mile away from the first barn.
The fire department and police department responded to the second fire. At the second barn they found cattle trapped in the lower level of the barn. Police and firefighters were able to get all of the cattle safely out of the barn. It is estimated that 35 head of cattle were able to be rescued from the barn.
The barns are owned family owned. Both barns were destroyed from the fires.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall and Northern York County Regional Department Fire Investigator were called to the scene. The cause of the fire has not been determined at this point.
