The Northern York County Regional Police Department is pleased to announce the hiring of six new police officers. The Officers were sworn in on January 16, 2024, at the Northern York County Regional Police Commission meeting.
All six officers graduated from the Harrisburg Area Community College Police Academy on December 21, 2023.
Alyssa Stitt, age 22, from East Brady, PA. Alyssa graduated from Karns City High School in 2019. She graduated from Clarion University in May 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice before entering the police academy.
Jacob Yoder, age 24, from Huntingdon, PA. Jacob graduated from Mifflin County High School in 2018. He graduated from Bloomsburg University in December 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice before entering the police academy.
Kevin Smith, age 31, from Hazleton, PA. Kevin graduated from Hazleton High School in 2011. He served active duty in the US Army for ten years before entering the police academy.
Jared Weyandt, age 22, from Reading, PA. Jared graduated from Exeter Township Senior High School in 2020. He attended Wilkes University prior to entering the police academy.
Kaleb Crean, age 21, from York, PA. Kaleb graduated from Eastern York High School in 2021. He attended Stevenson University prior to attending the police academy.
James Nguyen, age 21, from Mechanicsburg, PA. James graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 2021. He attended Harrisburg Area Community College prior to entering the police academy.
