On 04.11.24 at 8:03 AM the Northern York County Regional Police Department investigated an allegation of Luring a Child into a Motor Vehicle. The incident occurred in the 2400 block of W. Canal Rd. in Dover Township.

A 14 year old Dover High School student reported that she was walking to school eastbound on W. Canal Rd. She reported the dark blue pickup drove eastbound passed her. The pickup pulled over onto the shoulder of the road in front of the Dover Township Municipal building and stopped for several seconds. The truck then pulled into the municipal building parking lot and parked facing W. Canal Rd.

The teenager reported that as she walked by the location the lone male operator of the vehicle yelled out for her to come over to the truck. The teen continued walking eastbound. The pickup truck then pulled from the parking spot to the exit of the parking lot and was now behind the teen.

The female advised he yelled out to her again. She walked into the lawn of the Dover Township building. The male then drove away east on W. Canal Rd. The man did not exit the truck during this incident.

The teen described the operator as a black male 30-50 years old with short hair, muscular build, and was wearing a white t shirt. The female reported that it stood out to her that the pickup truck was missing its front bumper.

If you can identify the pickup truck or the driver you are asked to contact the Northern York County Regional Police Department at 717.467.TELL (8355) or tips@nycrpd.org. Case# 2024-015186
