On January 14, 2025, at 0825 hours, the Northern York County Regional Police Department responded to an address in the 1500 block of Guildford Lane in Manchester Township for a report of a possible structure fire.
According to a caretaker, upon arriving at the home, she found the dwelling filled with smoke. Upon further investigation, she discovered the 73-year-old male resident deceased inside the residence.
Fire investigators from the Northern York County Regional Police Department, in conjunction with York Area United Fire and Rescue and the PA State Police, determined that no fire occurred. Instead, it was found that an oil furnace malfunctioned, leading to the filling of the home with smoke and carbon monoxide.
The cause of death is pending determination by the York County Coroner’s Office.
