On 02.03.20 at 8:57 pm the Northern York County Regional Police Department investigated a robbery at a Rite Aid Pharmacy. The Rite Aid is located at 2067 PA-116, Spring Grove, PA in Jackson Township.
The police interviewed six victim/witnesses who were present when the crime occurred.
Four unknown males rushed in the store. Three robbers jumped behind the pharmacy counter.
Once behind the counter demands were made for Xanax. A store employee was ordered to fill two white garbage bags full of various medications. A total count of missing items has not been completed.
The cash register was also emptied of an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robbers ordered all employees and patrons near the pharmacy to lay down on the floor. The robbers sprayed an unknown substance on the victims’ heads and faces when they were on the floor.
EMS units responded to the scene and treated the victims for skin and throat irritations. The spray used on the victims is best described as a pepper spray or pepper spray like substance. Nobody needed transportation to the hospital for further treatment.
The robbers fled out of the store and left the area in an unknown direction.
The suspects were described as all males in the late teens or early twenties with thin to average builds. All suspects were wearing black clothing and had their faces covered with black ski masks.
