On July 11, 2024, at 11:30 AM the Northern York County Regional Police Department investigated an abuse of animal case. The crime occurred on July 10, 2024, during evening hours, in the 2600 block of Oakland Rd. in Dover Township.
The police spoke to a 19-year-old female who advised that her father had beaten the family dog to death with a baseball bat. The dog, pictured, was a 5-year-old female Pit Bull named Bali.
The daughter reported that she had returned from work with her father on July 10, 2024. At 9:30 PM she heard some unusual noises from the basement, so she walked downstairs to investigate. She advised that she observed the dog lying on the ground as Aston Aguilera struck the dog 10-15 times with a baseball bat.
The daughter was then instructed to help him clean the basement. They then removed the dog and dumped it in a nearby field. The police were able to go out and find Bali. The dog was returned to the family for cremation.
Aston Aguilera was arrested and arraigned on the felony charge of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. His bail was set at $75,000.00, which he did post.
